Hobbies

My first response to hobbies is "who has time for hobbies?" Between work, school, kids, church, etc. it is difficult to find any free time. I had a sewing teacher come to my house to give me a lesson. But as I write this, the sewing machine is where I left it and the project has not been started. The activity that I do everyday I guess would be my hobby is working out. It may come as a surprise since I don't have the body to fit the work-out schedule, but I lift weights 3 days a week and jog 3 days a week. Please note my weight lifting picture in the lower right corner :) I am proud to say that I have never been able to jog 5 miles before until now. My knees would hurt, but not anymore! It must be all that cod liver oil I take everyday lubricating my joints.....Not only do I like exercising, it is a great way to help me feel healthier. For now, this will probably be the hobby I participate in most. Sewing, Scrapbooking, gardening will just have to wait for later. Debbie

Hi Debbie!
You hit the nail on the head! There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to have hobbies.
Your passion for your job is evident in your lifestyle, including healthy diet and fitness, but also in the way that you view the students that you see each day. You don't just see them as having physical ailments, but you also recognize ailments of the heart. It is people like you that make the place a better world to live in!!

Hello, I know what you mean about not having enough time for hobbies. Between teaching, coaching and taking this damn class I feel that I have no Travis time. Thank goodness for a couple minutes between classes to indulge in a good book. See you Saturday, Travis.
GO LUTES!

Debbie,

I had the pleasure of meeting your husband Friday. He seems to be a nice guy.... To bad he works for Woodland. Ha Ha. Go Spuds.

Working out has never been something I've stuck with. I prefer to go hiking or bike riding rather than going to the gym. My downfall has alwys been following a routine.
